Synopsis (Student Project)
Nikola Tesla was an ingenious inventor and a complex man, riddled by fears, flamboyant and recluse altogether, he loved knowledge and enjoyed charming the high society with complex parlor tricks. Tesla’s line of work was in magnetism, electricity and failing attempts to maintain his sanity. He worked 20 hours a day.
One of the main issues of this project was to allow Mr. Tesla to continue conducting experiments in a small-scale domestic laboratory. In the conference room that is equipped with a modular folding kitchen for refreshments and liquors and a reel projector in the ceiling, Tesla can now entertain guests and hold lectures about his inventions in his unique fascinating style.
The venue is decorated with a touch of unique Art Deco “Steampunk”, containing leisure via technology that, more or less, existed during the inventor’s period. Due to the inventor’s attempt to radiate electricity through the air to all of the facility’s appliances, until this featis achieved, all sockets in the apartment (Heavy duty sockets. How else?!) must be concealed from view inside and under the furniture 30cm above the floor...
The Revolving Bookshelf
After the presentation to possible investors is over, it’s time to roll the drums on another marvel of electricity: The vast bookshelf in the atrium is shifted sideways by two powerful electric motors, located on both sides of the wall- revealing the laboratory, where more groundbreaking inventions are still waiting to be presented.
Lo and behold, good people!
